What a wonderful time we had at the show!
We can honestly say this was our most successful RWM in recent years. Although perhaps not as big a show as in the past, it was full of terrific exhibitors and visitors.
We were also in very good company this year, being joined by our suppliers Runi, Joest and Andritz, as well as the team from AO Recycling. It was a great opportunity to show the vast range of equipment we provide, as well as having our engineering design team present to be able to discuss the bespoke solutions we offer.
This year as well as having the always popular Runi SK370 for dewatering and the SK120 for EPS on the stand, we were also proud to launch to the U.K Runi’s brand new Bottle Breaker. This equipment is distinctive in the way that it splits open the bottle rather than smashing it, leaving no small shards of glass to contaminate the liquid. It is also capable of processing any kind of glass containing liquid, including bottles and jars. Even those with solids included, such as jars of pickled onions or olives can be processed.
As always we had interest from numerous general recyclers for the AirVibe, the Flip-Flow and the TopSpin. Vibration technology from such an experienced and established company as Joest always proves popular.
Andritz have been making headlines recently after supplying the equipment for the U.K’s largest fridge recycling plant, owned and operated by the recently launched AO Recycling. AO Recycling will recycle 700,000 fridges a year, a fifth of all the 3.5 million fridges disposed of in the UK annually, at its cutting edge new plant in Telford. It was a pleasure to have the team from AO Recycling join us on the stand to discuss their plant, alongside the team from Andritz.
Another highlight was Franssons making their RWM debut, following their recent acquisition by Andritz, on the PRM stand. Franssons are a global pioneer in machinery for treating waste, wood & biomass, as well as for recycling plastic, paper and cardboard. We were delighted with the overwhelming interest in these shredders, particularly for recycled wood.
One of our stand highlights this year was being able to launch our newly redesigned Bio-Processor, for the onsite processing of food and other organic waste. The P-series of machines are very simple to use. Within 24 hours, food waste will be turned into a stabilised, low-odour product that has reduced by up to 80% of the original volume. This residue can be used as fuel to supplement a suitable biomass unit or put to other uses such as soil enrichment. It can also be sent to AD. We were really proud to see this equipment mentioned in the Resource article Six of the Best New Products at RWM 2017
Also on the stand in our PRM Innovations area we had our engineering design team on hand to be able to discuss the kinds of bespoke solutions we can offer, including plant redesign.
If source segregation was the thing you were after at the show, then the Knapzak range may have been just the solution. A simple, low cost, efficient way to segregate and collect waste quickly in any environment. We had holders and bags on the stand demonstrate the ease of use and minimal space that they require.
The Vincent Screw Press drew varied interest as it is suitable for such a wide range of applications. From dewatering organic waste to paper pulp. Standard and custom presses are available, so it is always worth asking if the Vincent is the right solution for you.
All in all it was a fantastic show and we are already looking forward to next year’s RWM!
