Frequently asked questions

Do you supply outside of the UK?

Simply put, no. We are the UK agents however for; Runi, Imabe, Vincent, Joest, Andritz and Knapzak who all have regional agents throughout the world. If you are from outside of the UK, we are happy to pass your enquiry directly to the relevant person at the factory.

Can you carry out a Waste Audit/Site Survey?

The site survey is critical to ensure that the correct equipment is specified. Due regard must be given to site specific needs, both from the streamlining of the collection of waste or recyclable product to ensuring that the equipment will physically fit, that the loading hoppers are in the correct position and that collection vehicles can gain access to the waste or recycling area.

Do you have any Accreditations?

ISO9001 – PRM is committed to maintaining an effective Quality Management System (QMS), to satisfy the requirements of the ISO 9001:2008 Standard.

ISO14001 – PRM Waste Systems recognises the importance of the environment and the effects a business can have upon it; to this end we are accredited with the ISO14001:2004 standard.

SafeContractor is a leading third party accreditation scheme which recognises very high standards in health and safety management amongst UK contractors.

What if I can’t find the right machine online?

Our capable team will happily point you in the right direction; our recommendations will be made on the basis of experience and knowledge of the industry, knowledge of our equipment capabilities and a sound knowledge of our customer’s requirements.

Can I have a trial with the machine/ Knapzak?

Yes, please speak to our office so we can find out your needs and help find the right trial for you.

Do you offer a Leasing or Rental option for the machines?

Yes, please get in touch with the office if you would like to discuss this option.

Can you take my old machine as a part exchange?

It would be extremely specific to each business and dependant on the condition of the machine, so best to give our friendly staff a call to discuss.

Can you provide a Method Statement and Risk assessment?

Prior to installation of any equipment, a risk assessment and method statement is produced to cover the activities involved and so that everyone is aware of the procedures to be adopted whilst on site.

Will PRM Deliver the machine directly?

Delivery to site is provided as part of our package, unless other arrangements have been agreed.

What happens when the machine gets delivered?

Installation is carried out by one or more (depending on the complexity of the installation) of our nationally based engineers. The off-loading and positioning is managed by the engineer if commissioning is due to take place on the same day. When completed, commissioning will then take place prior to operator training.

Can you Train staff once the machine is installed?

Training is normally carried out at the completion of the installation and commissioning procedure. This tends to be a “hands on” procedure. We prefer to restrict overall numbers so that we can be sure that trainees fully understand the equipment being used. Once training is completed a certificate of competence is issued.

Is there any after care for the machine?

In order for any machine to keep working at its optimum efficiency we would recommend that a service contract be taken out with our company. The basic contract allows for three equally spaced visits per year at which time a complete and thorough service would be undertaken by one of our own fully trained service Engineers.

What if the machine breaks down?

It is impossible to guarantee 100% reliability for any equipment. To this end, PRM Waste Systems provide a 24-hour breakdown service. Our Nationally based engineers allow us to provide a local service. We would expect all callouts to be attended to within 24 hours, subject to site access restrictions.

What happens if I need additional parts?

Not a problem, we have a great relationship with our suppliers and if any parts are needed we will make sure they are with by quickest route possible.

What if I need to move the machine?

As businesses grow and evolve, it often becomes necessary to consider and implement the removal and relocation of waste handling or recycling equipment. To this end, PRM Waste Systems provide an equipment relocation service. Our Nationally based engineers allow us to provide a local service.
