The PRM
Food Waste Bio-Processor
The PRM Bio-Processor is an on-site organic waste digestor. It offers an easy and environmentally friendly way to recycle food waste and plant-based packaging. The Bio-Processor breaks waste down into a soil enricher aerobically, using oxygen and microbes (friendly bugs).
It reduces waste volume by 80%, and can therefore significantly reduce your waste management costs. It is easy to use, simply add your waste and close the lid.
"Not only does the PRM Bio-Processor provide environmental improvements to our site, it's also reducing ongoing costs"
Mark Layfield, Middleton Lodge
Bio-processors benefits
Easy and hygienic to use
Day to day use is just like tipping waste into a bin. There is no unpleasant odour and no exposed food waste to attract insects or rodents.
Reduces volume
Reduces the volume of food and organic waste by 80% over a 24 hour period.
Energy efficiency
The natural microbial process produces its own heat which reduces the electrical energy required to power the machine, making it one of the most energy efficient food digestors on the market.
Reporting portal
The online reporting portal can be accessed remotely and displays the real time performance status of the machine, showing levels of carbon captured and volume reduction.

What Goes Into the Bio-Processor?
Most types of organic waste can go into the PRM Bio-Processor. It’s important to feed the machine a mixture of waste to keep the microbes, who eat through the waste, happy. A combination of the following work well:
- Raw and cooked foods
- Meat and fish (including whole poultry)
- Fruit and vegetables
- Eggs and dairy
- Dried goods (e.g. flour, sugar, dried fruit)
- Bread, cakes, pasta and rice
- Compostable packaging
- Small amounts of grass cuttings, leaves and shredded paper
What Comes Out of the PRM Bio-Processor?
The Bio-Processor reduces organic waste volume by around 80%. This figure is sometimes slightly higher or lower, it depends on what type of waste you put into your machine.
The stable substrate it produces can be used as a fuel for biomass boilers, it can be composted to create a valuable soil nutrient which can be spread on land or it can be collected and taken to anaerobic digestion (AD) sites to produce green energy.
Remote Reporting Portal
All PRM Bio-Processors have a built in reporting screen which displays the liveperformance of your equipment. In addition to this we can provide access to ourRemote Reporting Portal which gives a more detailed view of your Bio-Processorsongoing performance and achievements.
It includes the ability to:
- Report on the amount of carbon you have captured, the number of bin lifts saved and the volume of waste that has gone in and come out
- View the live performance of your Bio-Processor wherever you are and view performance across specific time and date ranges
- Downloaded data for record keeping and presenting or subscribe to automated monthly reporting
- Allow PRM Waste systems to remotely access your equipment in the event of maintenance or troubleshooting
- Link multiple machines to show total performance
“The end residue resembles coffee grounds and has a fairly pleasant smell. It works especially well for us as we can put the substrate back on the land once broken down a bit and mixed with the manure. We all like the fact that this ends up on the farm and spread on the land.”
Louise Sheppy, Sheppy's Cider Farm
