Bio-Processor a hit at Commercial Kitchen Show

Commercial Kitchen 2019

PRM recently exhibited at the Commercial Kitchen Show. We chose this event last year to launch the Bio-Processor and returned this year to show how the equipment has developed.

Developing the Bio-Processor range

Following the success of last year’s exhibition, where we launched the P250 Bio-Processor, a bin sized unit, we returned this year with an additional two sizes on offer. We now include the P500 and the P1000 in the range, able to process 350kg and 1500kg of food waste respectively. The P500 has recently been installed in a food processing plant, to be used for reject material. The P1000 was recently installed in the recycling hub of a waste processing site on an island location.

Planglow for packaging

We were thrilled to be joined by the brilliant, Planglow, a leading supplier of eco-packaging and catering labels for takeaway foods. Together, we have teamed up to offer their customers a cost-effective solution for the eco disposal of food and packaging waste on site.

Planglow’s managing director John Scott commented: “The UK’s waste infrastructure leaves a lot to be desired. So while many food and drink providers are striving to reduce their carbon footprint by introducing compostables in place of single-use plastics, they are then finding that appropriate collection services are not available and that much of their waste is still being directed to landfill or incineration. However, by introducing a bio processing unit onsite, the provider is no longer at the mercy of this patchy – at best – infrastructure and is able to gain complete autonomy over their own waste. This not only helps to save the food provider money on waste collection services but also reduces associated vehicle movements. We estimate that purchasing or leasing a unit from PRM represents a cost advantage for most businesses, what’s more, this provides a solution to everyone regardless of the waste collection services available in their area”.

Commercial Kitchen 2020

This year’s show was very successful, with the organisers reporting that buyers numbers were up and the quality of decision makers even better than last year. We certainly had some very interesting enquiries and our teams are busy following up with our new and existing clients.

We look forward to seeing how the show will develop next year when it moves to its new home at the ExCel London!
