Dewatering
Liquid separation is a key process in volume and weight reduction of waste products
such as reject from industrial processes. The process separates liquid from containers
in order to recycle and reuse the component parts. Where components can only go to
landfill or waste to energy transport costs are reduced thanks to the liquid removal.
Typical applications for dewatering include Anaerobic Digestion (AD) plants, cosmetics,
pharmaceuticals, distribution, paper mills, breweries and food & beverage
manufacturers…
In AD applications the liquid from the food waste is squeezed out through a perforated
matrix. The liquid can be used as feedstock for biogas and the solids can be sent to
incineration. This process reduces weight by 50%.
Before waste from paper production can be transformed into recycled paper, all
unwanted materials must be sorted out. This water-containing reject is expensive to
transport and dispose of but after compacting and dewatering in the RUNI dewatering
press, it can go to incineration at a much lower cost.
Benefits
Increases feedstock for you Bio Digester
Reduces bin lift costs as a result of weight and volume reduction
Separated water can be re-used
Different configurations available depending on input material

What goes in?
The RUNI dewatering screw press is a versatile machine and can process numerous materials including:
AD feedstock (including stretchy corn starch bags)
Production reject
ALU Cans
PET bottles
Paper mill reject
Pharmaceuticals
What comes out?
The output is greatly dependant on the input material; in household waste reject applications the plastic and other non-organic material will be compacted and dry with a typical moisture reduction of 50-65%. The volume is greatly reduced.
Remote Support
Remote support software is fitted as standard on all dewatering machines, this allows our skilled engineers to optimise and trouble shoot your equipment remotely helping you to reduce downtime and maximise production.
If you need to dewater organic, fibrous materials such as: raw food waste, fruits and vegetable, tobacco, manure, crops, paper and pulp then the Vincent screw press will be more suitable to your application – contact us today for more information.
